water in small bowl &#8211; let stand 5 min.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color\">Stir in milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color\">Cream butter &amp; sugar until light and fluffy in large bowl, add eggs, blending well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color\">Combine flour &amp; salt, add to creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture &#8211; beginning and ending with flour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color\">Mix well after each addition (batter will be very stiff).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color\">Cover with cloth &#8211; let rise in a warm place (85\u00b0) free from drafts about 2 hrs or doubled in bulk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color\">Spoon batter into well greased [?] pan &#8211;
