I intended to write you immediately on my return from Juniper Lodge to convey to you my enthusiasm for the place and the whole plan. We simply must keep that property and operate it for the benefit of our graduate students. I am hoping that President Neilson will find it possible to go up before the 8th of September, because I feel sure that he would feel the same enthusiasm that I have for the project, if he could once see the house and feel the wonderful peace that surrounds it. I should have enjoyed spending a month there and I am sure that I could have been perfectly happy.<\/span><\/p>\n I doubt if there will be any real vacation for me this summer, but I have had a very happy time driving the Buick and in spite of the fact that College Hall has been torn up all summer and we have lived in the midst of plaster and various disagreeable smells and paint and paint remover, my work has gone nicely and is up to the minute which gives me a much more lasting sense of relief than any vacation could. I can\u2019t make myself believe that the summer is so nearly over.
