Monster Mash ·

a cheerful old man

This image shows a blackout poetry piece created on a page of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. The background is predominantly collaged over with a large piece of blue and orange paper and a collaged portrait of a bird. Two large holes have been cut out of the blue/orange paper, revealing portions of the original text. The majority of this text has been drawn over with crosshatched black marker, with select words and phrases left uncovered, creating a new poetic message against the collaged background.
