Dreadful Thing

The image shows a page from a book heavily obscured by dark, textured charcoal shading that forms a rectangle. The shading forms a large rectangular shape in the center, surrounded by lighter areas with visible hatching marks. In the center of the dark rectangle an eyeball peers through a slit. Small fragments of text remain visible, creating a found poem effect. Sketchy illustrations of tall human figure and a bird in a tree are along the edges, giving the piece an eerie quality.
