By Dana Salisbury
I am blind
I am poor
You
raise me by kindness I trust
the society
Heaven forbid! if criminal
I have been condemned.
your
voice
assures me
friends?
paused. the moment
to rob me I struggled
destroyed
and sobbed
I cried
protect me!
you
exclaimed who are you?
that
horror
and
fury,
I refrained.
I quitted and escaped
unperceived
