I remember the original

This image shows a blackout poetry piece created on a page of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. The background is predominantly drawn over in pink and purple marker, with visible brushstrokes. Select words and phrases have been left uncovered, creating a new poetic message against the colorful background. Sheer images of a moon and a bunny have been pasted on opposite corners of the page.

I remember the original
sensations
By degrees,
I remember,
Darkness and
the light
opaque
liberty, no
oppressive heat

I

I

I

I felt cold
but
I knew

gentle light
radiant form
kind of wonder.
