In the storybook, A Map into the World by Kao Kalia Yang, illustrated by Seo Kim, Paj Ntaub, a young Hmong girl likes to draw her natural world in the changing seasons.
Art is an amazing way to interact with nature. Take a seat at the drawing table and draw one of your favorite nature memories or a place that you feel most at home. When you are finished hang your art on the wall!
Don’t forget to add a map of your world to the outdoor chalk station next to the fountain!
Be sure to grab a take home activity booklet found inside the Church Gallery in Lyman Plant House. This booklet encourages children to use their creativity and think about the various way in which their own story is interconnected with the natural world.
