“I got this tattoo to symbolize my personal growth. For ten years, I was a camper and then a counselor at a sleepaway camp in Vermont. I worked in the camp garden, which has an arbor in the middle. During pre-camp, I would plant morning glory seeds at the base of the arbor, and for the next ten weeks, I would tend to them to help them grow and climb. At the end of ten weeks, the morning glories would touch at the top of the arbor. The morning glory growth and meeting at the top symbolized the personal growth that occurred each summer. After my last year as a counselor, I decided it was time to get a tattoo dedicated to camp and my summer growth. I drew the morning glories myself and found a great local tattoo artist to make my art and story into the tattoo I now have.”
