Senior thesis looking at official voter guides, their impact on political knowledge, and implications for voters’ ability to vote in line with their values.

This paper seeks to investigate the effectiveness of official publications from each state as they pertain to voter guides for elections, seeking to examine if voter guide obtainability and comprehensibility affect political knowledge and voters’ ability to vote correctly in accordance with their values. Data analyses are conducted on polling data on voters’ political knowledge levels, features of voter guides, and state ballot initiatives, supplemented with case studies, to determine the impact of voter guides on voters’ ability to “vote correctly”.
