The Committee on Educational Technology (CET) evaluates current uses of educational technologies at Smith and advises on longer-term plans and support for digital pedagogies at Smith. We welcome your views and input concerning the use of technology to improve teaching and learning.
One of CET’s responsibilities is to review applications for funding exploratory and innovative projects in technology-enabled learning. The committee awards up to a total of $20,000 each academic year; past grant applications have received funding ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 for equipment, software and other related needs. (CET grants may not be used for stipends or other compensation.) Please review our Grant Program Overview for more details on program requirements, funding options, and selection criteria.
CET also works with the staff who support digital pedagogy around the college to develop resources and workshops that support faculty adoption of technology-enabled learning strategies. Please contact your CET members if you have ideas or suggestions about how we could more effectively support faculty development around issues of technology use.
