Planning is underway for the Smith College Staff Creative Arts Showcase<\/span>, which will take place on campus in 2021<\/span>. This event, supported by a 2020 Innovation Challenge Grant, will highlight the creativity and talents of staff members. Our hope is to help the Smith College Community become more aware of\u2014and enjoy\u2014the creativity of its staff members<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Art and creativity can connect us even during this time while we are apart. We are wondering: how are you staying engaged creatively through art, music, or other mediums? How do your activities bring you comfort and help you create community while staying at home<\/span>?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to collecting works for the Showcase, we are collecting pictures and videos of creative work and ideas to share in this\u00a0<\/span>Virtual Preview<\/b> of the Showcase.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are looking for pieces that represent you, that share an experience, that tell a story. Perhaps you have been working on a creative piece for a while\u2014a quilt, painting or bag that is just awaiting some finishing touches? Or maybe you have recently taken a photo of a breathtaking sunset while out on an evening walk? We encourage you to submit your creative pieces to the <\/span>Virtual Preview<\/b> so we can share your work with your fellow staff colleagues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Submissions<\/a> for the Virtual Preview will be shared on the Staff Council Facebook page and listserv and may also be included in the Smith College Staff Creative Arts Showcase on campus. The Virtual Preview will begin in May and continue throughout the summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
