Blackout Poetry · April 30, 2022

A poem made from a page of Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. Words are crossed out in purple. Pink, green, orange, and blue patterns are drawn in the background. Collages of animals, a person floating in water, a person walking through the forest, the lunar cycle, and a person in a suit are pasted on the page.

Breathe the air in my place.
(The moth the dark suns the impalpable in its place.)
the thoughts
not original
not yours
nothing,
the riddle
the untying of the
thing,
close distant nothing.
wherever the water
bathes the globe.
gain the day?
lost in the same spirit won.
