Note to Lighting Designer:
While my piece’s overall theme is still a little lost in the shuffle, there are two core concepts that I would like reflected by the technical aspects of the dance: isolation and community.
Ideally, this would be represented as a shift in color, the piece lit primarily in a white wash at the start and slowly fading into something with more color and dimension. If possible, I’d like access to shin lights so that the floor and the dancer’s bodies can be lit in a wide range of colors. I’m interested in warm oranges and yellows, combined with some cool blues, and potentially a little bit of red. Whatever the lighting designer feels is possible and will create a subtle colorful affect on the dancers. (See inspiration pictures below).

If possible I’d also like a special downstage right that comes directly from above, so that the dancer’s face isn’t lit. The circle should be distinct but not with harsh lines.
Otherwise I believe I’ll only need access to a good general wash. I trust the design and the inclinations of the crew and am look forward to working together as we approach tech and performance.
