Having Spirit Flow through Me 

For this session I finally chose a song that will be utilized for the bulk of my piece. It is Sinnerman by Nina Simone. This song is described to be about personal transformation and seeking absolution.

A sinner is defined by someone who transgresses against divine law by committing an immoral act.

Divine is defined by being of, from, or like God or a god.

God is the Black Woman and the biggest sin a Black Woman can commit is choosing a path or consistent actions that go against herself. This piece is growing closer to a point where the process of reaching this understanding is depicted.

This section is beginning to show the transition between being consumed by the dark cycles a Black Woman may find herself in and finding light out of those situations. This movement is presenting the beginning of her stepping into her divine power.
