3.5 MP Process Log: Lighting Ideas

Three sets:

Living Room #1:

Image of a black living room couch, decorated with pinned scraps of cloth of different colors and patterns.

What happens: In this scene, I dance in a corner of the room for about 4 minutes, so as to leave space for the couch to be seen. In that scene, I am dancing to a voice-over of me telling a story. Then I dance to a song for about 4 minutes and this time I am using the entire room.

Lighting ideas: In the gif above you can see the sun shining from one side of the room and giving a Sunday afternoon vibe and I love that. This time I am talking about family so that old picture vibe also fits this first scene. Something I thought would be interesting was to be able to light the swatches on the couch as I talk about different family members.

Marley Island:

What happens: On the island, there will be two people dancing to music for about 2-3 minutes. The other dancer and I will be making these big patterns with our dancing.

Lighting ideas: For this part, I think we need to be followed by the lights from above. I like colors and there are certain moments where I might be interested in that. That’s all I know so far.

Living Room #2:

What happens: In this scene my other dancer will be doing something similar to the first living room set, dancing to a recording of her voice telling a story.

Lighting ideas: I would like to create a similar vibe of being home and looking into the past. That’s all I know so far.
