{"id":340,"date":"2021-03-14T16:26:49","date_gmt":"2021-03-14T20:26:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/dan399-sp21\/?page_id=340"},"modified":"2021-05-24T10:57:10","modified_gmt":"2021-05-24T14:57:10","slug":"2-5-lighting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/dan399-sp21\/catherine-home\/2-5-lighting\/","title":{"rendered":"2.5 Lighting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Note to Lighting Designer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While my piece&#8217;s overall theme is still a little lost in the shuffle, there are two core concepts that I would like reflected by the technical aspects of the dance: isolation and community.<\/p>\n<p>Ideally, this would be represented as a shift in color, the piece lit primarily in a white wash at the start and slowly fading into something with more color and dimension. If possible, I&#8217;d like access to shin lights so that the floor and the dancer&#8217;s bodies can be lit in a wide range of colors. I&#8217;m interested in warm oranges and yellows, combined with some cool blues, and potentially a little bit of red. Whatever the lighting designer feels is possible and will create a subtle colorful affect on the dancers. (See inspiration pictures below).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.pinimg.com\/originals\/87\/7a\/fb\/877afb7d241af4783c350d7c51868e41.png\" alt=\"can't tell how much of the dress color is lights and how much is fabric- neat! | Design, Lighting design, Colorful dresses\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bsp-static.playbill.com\/f0\/ba\/57d7f00b443b9569e03588f28d19\/prince-of-egypt-mountain-view-center-production-photo-2017-11-hr.jpg\" alt=\"Read Reviews for The Prince of Egypt World Premiere | Playbill\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If possible I&#8217;d also like a special downstage right that comes directly from above, so that the dancer&#8217;s face isn&#8217;t lit. The circle should be distinct but not with harsh lines.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise I believe I&#8217;ll only need access to a good general wash.
