In Glass Pocket, the audience is distanced from the performer, yet also right there watching. In Naturally, I am invested in the movement journey and true experience of the three locations around the island of O’ahu: Ho’omaluhia, Ko’olau mountains in Kane’ohe, and Wawamalu. In this piece, I used Raw footage and surround sound from the three locations mountain to ocean. I want the viewer to get a clear sense of the land and the space the body is occupying in relation to the landscapes around her.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––Credits

Title: Naturally

Choreography, Editing, Sound Design: Talia Preis

Performer: Talia Preis

Cinematographer: Lisa Preis & Talia Preis

Music: Knee Five by Philip Glass Ensemble, Old School Projector by Kevin Brown, Original sound recordings by Talia Preis

Costumes: Sandy Tanaka

Naturally . . .
