Its title\u00a0<em>Arrival\u00a0<\/em>signifies coming to terms with the knowledge of self and knowledge of circumstances I&#8217;ve acquired through my journey. The flow of the poem mirrors the flow of the dance piece as the trials that come along with growth and cycle breaking are addressed. It depicts the hard but oh so worthy road to liberation and it goes as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>It\u2019s the way I\u2019m still pushing<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>It\u2019s the way I\u2019m still fighting<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>It\u2019s the way I\u2019m still trying<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Even when I don\u2019t want to<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>It\u2019s the way that I am loving the process<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Even though&#8230;&#8230;..<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>That wasn\u2019t always the truth<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>And even though days are still mighty hard<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>And even though the walk can still be real lonely<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>I know<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>That it is the right path<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>For many others before me were lead astray<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>For the way<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>That my mother cries<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>That my grandmother cleans<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>And that my sister compensates<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>For all the things, they wanted to be<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>But didn\u2019t know they could<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>I AM<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Because of what they were<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>And what we are<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Is POWERFUL.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Arrival<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0-Ra<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I finally wrote the spoken word piece that will open my dance.
