My dear Mr. Clemens:

I have your letter of May 22 and thank you for its information. I am returning the blank which you asked me to fill. Concerning tho contribution to the book of the humor of different peoples, I might undertake a short statement on Negro humor sometime next year. I could not do anything before September first. Perhaps you will write me again concerning the time limit.

Very sincerely yours,
