I STARTED early, took my dog,
And visited the sea;
The mermaids in the basement
Came out to look at me,

The splendor of a
meteor
Departing
I never sought
any golden
peace.
a
lost emolument
Upon the apple-tree.

ARTCTURUS is his other name,—
I’d rather call him star!
It’s so unkind of science
To go and interfere!
