I wanted it to be fun to do and fun to read, but also have some sort of meaning. I ultimately landed on this completely ridiculous Wikipedia page because I am working on a research paper in several of my other classes and we are discussing the reliability of sources. I know that you aren’t supposed to use Wikipedia for very valid reasons, but sometimes that wealth of information is so tempting.

Since elementary school, I have been told that Wikipedia is an unreliable source because it can be edited by anyone. However, in my experience, Wikipedia pages are almost always accurate and a good way to start research as they provide general background knowledge on a certain subject that you can then look into further. This project is meant to touch on that idea. Almost all of the text is taken from Wikipedia articles and used to represent a different topic. This information was originally correct, but small adjustments made it completely wrong.

I think this text is original because the subjects are switched to something very much different. I copied the words, transformed the subject, and then combined it with photos and visual design to create a fake Wikipedia page. This work is absolutely a plagiarism because most of the paragraphs were copy-pasted in their entirety before changing a few words. I don’t think this would even count as patchwriting despite the changing of certain words because I made no effort to alter syntax, grammar, or phrasing.

View PostThe List of Everything

[3

post-191","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-an-original-plagiarism","entry
["GET
