  1. I loved seeing everyones final projects! It was so great to see how creative everyone was and to see the similarities and differences between people’s work throughout that class.

  2. It was so fun to get to see people’s interests come out in their final presentations. They all felt so personal and creative, thank you everyone for sharing! I really enjoyed how collaborative this class was, it was super awesome to get to grow alongside you guys and hear your themes and voices come out with all the different units. Thanks for all your feedback and willingness to share and be honest!

  3. I have learned so much this semester! From starting in my comfort zone with nonfiction to stretching outside it to explore fiction and poetry, I feel like I have really grown as a writer this semester. It was really fun to read all the work that everyone else wrote throughout the semester and discuss them in both large and small group workshops. I really liked seeing/hearing/experiencing everyone’s final projects, which were wonderful combinations of what we learned this semester and our own personal experiences and interests. It was a really fun way to end the semester. Thanks for a great semester, everyone!

  4. I’ve really, deeply enjoyed this class, and that was largely thanks to the community that was created. In every workshop, even ones that weren’t for my own piece, I got to hear so many helpful and fascinating discussions on pieces. In every reading response or discussion I got to see how many different ways one piece could present itself to or help people. In every blogpost I had the opportunity to read so many incredible pieces that inspired me substantially. This class helped me explore facets of writing I never had before and really pushed and challenged me in such a way that made me a better writer and allowed me to connect with and get to know others through their writing. Everyone’s final projects felt like they were a perfect reflection of who everyone is as a person and a writer as well as how we’ve all grown since the beginning of this class. I am so thankful that I choose to take this course and I will miss it now that it is over.

  5. Workshopping and sharing our pieces with one another has been a very significant and wonderful part of this class for me. I’ve taken many classes at Smith where collaboration isn’t built into the lesson design, and I leave the semester without knowing anything about what my peers are working on, or knowing them on a personal level at all. I’ve enjoyed receiving input from new perspectives to improve my work, and hearing everyone else’s pieces. The final pieces, especially, were so impressive and personal; I feel like I know everyone better as writers, artists, and creatives.

  6. I really enjoyed how creative everyone was for the final projectssss! They were so much fun! I feel like I experienced so many different emotions and learned so much about the class as people but also about the hobbies and livestyles that we all live. A lot fo the class is so creative and artistically gifted which I’m glad people explored more. I also loved the usage of sound that a lot of the class included whether from clips of films, music, archival images, or productions from friends that wanted to collaborate. This project was a really great way to end the semester! Thank you again for a great class and semester!
