Cloves are another term for the tree\u2019s flower buds, which are picked and sun-dried before taking the form most people recognize (&#8220;Clove&#8221;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Historical medicinal use:<\/strong> Marie de Fouquet lists clove as an ingredient in the recipe for a powder that she says will help a woman\u2019s period come (Fouquet, 1685). Traditionally, cloves have been used to treat nausea, cholera, and malaria (Cumo, 2013).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Modern medicinal use:<\/strong> Cloves are still used today in accordance with traditional beliefs.
