OBJECTIVE:
- To connect people interested in gaming
- To open up research areas of interest around games
- To gain a collaborative space that hosts opportunities for discussion where a collection of underrepresented gamers’ responses to games can be archived
In response to a growing area of Smith student interest in computer programming and engineering, and the preliminary explorations on campus of gaming for educational purposes, the goal of this group is to create a central hub for resources from both on and off campus for the purpose of introducing interested students to video games and the gaming industry, and establish an open space for discussion and exploration of game related topics. The Smith student body consists of demographics typically underrepresented in both games and the gaming industry, and we hope to change that by creating an encouraging starting point as well as a platform to vocalize opinions and experiences in order to shift gaming culture.

Currently, on the homepage, there’s information on where and when we meet, and the date of the next meeting that I will keep updated. Thank you for your interest!
When’s the next meeting?
Hello! We meet in the basement of Seelye, in the Knowledge Lab (B4). I’ll add that to the page, thanks!
