{"id":2877,"date":"2018-03-01T13:05:45","date_gmt":"2018-03-01T18:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/blog\/japanesebookreview\/?page_id=2877"},"modified":"2021-06-17T11:33:25","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T15:33:25","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/japanese-book-review\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The website<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Japanese Book Review website started in 2015 with the support of the Five Colleges Innovative Language Teaching grant and Smith College Educational Technology Services as a part of the Five College Extensive Reading (ER) course curriculum. \u00a0In 2017, because the class activity on book reviews was replaced with Moodle, the website separated from the Five College ER course. \u00a0However, the website remained and has renewed aiming to serve Japanese learners who are interested in reading Japanese books for study as well as for pleasure. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This website has two components: <strong>Japanese book reviews<\/strong> posted by students studying Japanese at Smith College, and <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/blog\/japanesebookreview\/stories-by-levels\/ \u200e\"><strong>original <em>T<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/blog\/japanesebookreview\/stories-by-levels\/ \u200e\"><strong><i>adoku<\/i><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/blog\/japanesebookreview\/stories-by-levels\/ \u200e\"><strong> books (2017-current)<\/strong><\/a> created by students taking my Japanese courses at Smith College. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>The Japanese book reviews<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Japanese Program at Smith has been incorporating <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tadoku<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> exercises in the beginning through advanced course curricula. \u00a0On this website, students post reviews of books of their choices after they read them. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The purpose is 1) to share their reading experiences of Japanese books and help find books to read in the near future, 2) to build a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tadoku<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> community online where students connect beyond their Japanese levels to give advice, reflect and encourage each other. \u00a0Moreover, this website is open to public viewing in order to share the book reviews with any Japanese learners who are interested in reading Japanese books. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b><i>Tadoku<\/i><\/b><b> Books by Students<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cConnecting with other Japanese learners and contributing to public scholarship.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In conjunction with T<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">adoku<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> exercises, some of my Japanese courses have been working on the project called \u201c<strong>Tadoku Books by Learners of Japanese<\/strong>\u201d creating original T<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">adoku<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> books for other Japanese learners since 2017.\u00a0 The stories were written by Japanese learners who intriguingly express their unique experiences, thoughts, and ideas by incorporating multiple languages and cultures. Students work as individuals or in groups and write original stories or rewrite copyright-free materials for Japanese graded readers. \u00a0Copyright-free images and photographs are used in their books. Some students draw, photoshop, or use mixed materials to create images for their stories. \u00a0Students have two feedback sessions to share their in-progress work and give feedback to each other before finalizing. The final products are published for reading online. \u00a0All copyrights are reserved by the authors of the books.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>\u5b66\u7fd2\u8005\u304c\u4f5c\u6210\u3057\u305f\u30aa\u30ea\u30b8\u30ca\u30eb\u591a\u8aad\u672c<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u30b9\u30df\u30b9\u5927\u5b66\u306e\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u30af\u30e9\u30b9\u3067\u306f\u30012017\u5e74\u306e\u6625\u5b66\u671f\u304b\u3089\u3001\u591a\u8aad\u3092\u3057\u306a\u304c\u3089\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u5b66\u7fd2\u8005\u306e\u305f\u3081\u306e\u591a\u8aad\u5411\u3051\u306e\u672c\u3092\u4f5c\u6210\u3059\u308b\u30d7\u30ed\u30b8\u30a7\u30af\u30c8\u3092\u884c\u3063\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u3053\u3053\u3067\u306f\u3001\u30b9\u30df\u30b9\u5927\u5b66\u3067\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u3092\u52c9\u5f37\u3057\u3066\u3044\u308b\u5b66\u751f\u304c\u66f8\u3044\u305f\u591a\u8aad\u5411\u3051\u306e\u30b9\u30c8\u30fc\u30ea\u30fc\u3001<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/japanese-book-review\/stories-by-levels\/\">Yomu Yomu Beginners<\/a>\uff08\u521d\u7d1a\u8005\u5411\u3051\uff09 \u3001<a \u30b7\u30ea\u30fc\u30ba\u3092\u3054\u7d39\u4ecb\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<span style=\"color: #0000ff\">\uff08\u30ec\u30d9\u30eb\u5225\u306e\u30da\u30fc\u30b8\u306f<a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"http:\/\/tadoku.org\/learners\/book_ja#level-jgr\">NPO\u591a\u8a00\u8a9e\u591a\u8aad\u306e\u30ec\u30d9\u30eb\u306e\u76ee\u5b89<\/a>\u3092\u53c2\u8003\u306b\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u304c\u3001\u5b66\u7fd2\u8005\u306e\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u5b66\u7fd2\u3084\u591a\u8aad\u7d4c\u9a13\u304b\u3089\u306e\u89b3\u70b9\u3082\u53d6\u308a\u5165\u308c\u3066\u30ec\u30d9\u30eb\u3092\u4ed8\u3051\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u57fa\u672c\u7684\u306b\u3001\u7fd2\u3063\u305f\u6587\u6cd5\u30fb\u8a9e\u5f59\u30fb\u8868\u73fe\u30fb\u6f22\u5b57\u3092\u4f7f\u3044\u306a\u304c\u3089\u3001\u5b66\u751f\u304c\u66f8\u3051\u308b\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u3067\u30b9\u30c8\u30fc\u30ea\u30fc\u3092\u66f8\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u307e\u305f\u3001\u8aad\u8005\u304c\u8f9e\u66f8\u3092\u4f7f\u308f\u305a\u3001\u30d5\u30c3\u30c8\u30ce\u30fc\u30c8\u306a\u3057\u3067\u3082\u8aad\u3081\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3001\u30c7\u30b6\u30a4\u30f3\u3084\u8a71\u306e\u69cb\u6210\u3092\u5de5\u592b\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u30a4\u30e9\u30b9\u30c8\u3084\u5199\u771f\u306f\u3001\u8457\u4f5c\u6a29\u30d5\u30ea\u30fc\u3001\u5b66\u751f\u30aa\u30ea\u30b8\u30ca\u30eb\u306e\u3082\u306e\u3001\u307e\u305f\u306f\u6240\u6709\u8005\u304b\u3089\u8a31\u53ef\u3092\u5f97\u305f\u3082\u306e\u3092\u4f7f\u7528\u3057\u3001\u30b9\u30c8\u30fc\u30ea\u30fc\u306f\u5b66\u751f\u306e\u30aa\u30ea\u30b8\u30ca\u30eb\u304c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u3067\u3059\u3002\u30ea\u30e9\u30a4\u30c8\u7248\u3092\u3059\u308b\u5834\u5408\u306f\u3001\u8457\u4f5c\u6a29\u306e\u306a\u3044\u3082\u306e\u3092\u9078\u3093\u3067\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<pre><img
