Food Pantry Resources in Amherst, MA.

Survival center workers Amherst Survival Center 

Amherst Survival Center (ASC) began in 1976. Since then, it has welcomed the neighbors of 13 Hampshire and Franklin Counties towns. 

 Amherst Survival Center exists thanks to community donations and volunteers who offer their goods and services to the most vulnerable people in these towns. The food Project included the following:

Meals are served on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. “All are welcome !no registration is necessary!” (ASC).

Daily Free Fresh vegetable and bread distribution from 12:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Food Pantry is given once a month on the 3rd Saturday of the Month from 9:00 to 12:00 AM.

Monthly Grocery Delivery “including 384 children and 417 seniors” (ASC).

Registration can be online or in person. The Pantry registration forms are available in different languages.

The Center for Human Development CHD __ Not Bread Alone 

In 1960, Bill Seretta, Kathy Townsend, and Art Bertrand — founded CHD, an era where people struggled with hunger and healthcare. CHD offers more than eighty programs and services for an inclusive community arrangement.

 

In CHD Community Meals Program, everyone can engage with cooking skills or volunteering. This allows us to enjoy meals and bond as a community, eliminating frontiers from servers to serve and promoting a respectful and inclusive environment.

Gathering on:

Wednesday, the setting up cooking started from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Meals are served at 4:00 PM __ followed by a cleaning that ends at approximately 6: 00 PM.

Saturday and Sunday, Cooking begins at 9-30:00 AM and serves at noon, finishing around 2 PM.

Groceries are distributed every Saturday at 12: 45 PM.

First Baptist Church of Amherst 

First Baptist Church has been offering community service to its neighbors for 22 years. People in need can receive basic pantry food, vegetables, sweet bread, paper products, diapers, and hygiene supplies every Wednesday. Everyone is eligible and welcome.
