Captain Julius Cummings, a former Salvation Army, led the Springfield Rescue Mission, which was organized to rescue men from alcohol addiction and to provide shelter to those who lived on the streets or traveled from town to town. In Addition, it provided them with food, shelter, and clothing.

SRM has undergone many changes since that time. However, its mission has only improved, and it currently serves the residents of the 16 towns of Hampden County, becoming one of the most complete charitable organizations in Greater Springfield, MA.

Thus, SRM has rehabilitated those lives by calling out “to the least, the last and the lost” (SRM). They are fulfilling their physical and spiritual needs through a Gospel, introducing and connecting them with God to apply his words and their everyday lives.

For more information about the rehabilitation program or sheltering,

visit their website at https://springfieldrescuemission.org/about/

or call (413) 732-0808

Address:

10 Mill Street, P.O.
