Wallace House opened as the fifth dormitory on campus for the fall semester of 1889. It was named in honor of Robert Wallace, an original Trustee of the college.
The house was torn down in August 1959 for Wright Hall. The site proved too small, and today its memory remains as an unmarked part of Seeyle Lawn. It was situated just west of St. John’s Episcopal Church and what is today the lawn in front of the present location of Dewey House.
