The museum, located in Kansas City, Missouri, contains the world\u2019s largest collection of fine-scale miniatures and one of the nation\u2019s largest antique toy collections on public display.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POSITION<\/strong><br \/>\nEvaluation Intern<\/p>\n<p><strong>NUMBER OF POSITIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n1<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION<\/strong><br \/>\n$2,100 stipend<\/p>\n<p><strong>TIME COMMITMENT<\/strong><br \/>\nApproximately 200 hours (11 weeks) beginning May 28, 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>WEEKLY SCHEDULE<\/strong><br \/>\nSupervisor and intern will determine schedule, which is flexible but will require some weekend days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DUTIES\/RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><br \/>\nThe evaluation intern will develop a comprehensive evaluation program to explore the effectiveness of the museum\u2019s programming as well as various interpretive efforts in the galleries. The intern will work with the Museum Educator, as well as other staff members, to research, design, implement, analyze and report findings from highlight focused evaluations, which may include visitor observations, interviews, questionnaires or more. The evaluation intern will gain valuable experience in visitor evaluation, visitor services and museum work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUPERVISOR<\/strong><br \/>\nMuseum Educator<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nCandidates should be graduate students or undergraduates who have completed their junior year. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, public speaking experience, and demonstrated experience working with the public. Must be a self-starter with high standards, have excellent oral and written communication skills, record information accurately, and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. High attention to detail and ability to work independently are crucial. Experience in museum visitor evaluation, or quantitative and qualitative research methods is preferred.
