{"id":2449,"date":"2020-03-09T17:33:53","date_gmt":"2020-03-09T17:33:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/museum-concentration\/?p=2449"},"modified":"2020-03-09T17:33:53","modified_gmt":"2020-03-09T17:33:53","slug":"paid-museum-education-and-communications-internship-summer-2020-national-womens-history-museum-alexandria-va","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/museum-concentration\/2020\/03\/09\/paid-museum-education-and-communications-internship-summer-2020-national-womens-history-museum-alexandria-va\/","title":{"rendered":"Paid Museum Education and Communications Internship (Summer 2020) | National Women&#8217;s History Museum | Alexandria, VA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Education and\u00a0Communications\u00a0Intern<\/b><\/p>\n<p><u><\/u><u><\/u>The National Women&#8217;s History Museum is seeking a\u00a0highly motivated, creative,\u00a0and\u00a0detail-oriented\u00a0intern to assist with a variety of\u00a0education- and communications-related\u00a0tasks.\u00a0\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities:\u00a0\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u><\/u>answer inquiries from researchers and students\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>manage the editorial calendar for all electronic and print publications\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>conduct outreach to potential partner organizations and guest authors\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>prepare content for social media, blog, newsletters, and the website.<br \/>\n<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications\u00a0should include:\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u><\/u>Current or recent upper-level\u00a0undergraduate or graduate student\u00a0in\u00a0communications, journalism, marketing,\u00a0public relations,\u00a0museum studies, or a related field.\u00a0\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills as well as the ability to multitask.<\/li>\n<li><u><\/u><u><\/u><u><\/u>Experience with historical content highly preferred.\u00a0\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>Experience using Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>Experience using Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>Experience using Canva or other graphic design program\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>Ability to conduct verifiable online research\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><u><\/u>Motivated to work independently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The internship will run between May 20<sup>th<\/sup>&#8211; August 13<sup>th<\/sup>,\u00a02020. Candidate must be able to work at least 16 hours per week for a total minimum of 200 work hours over the course of the internship.
