is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add a Post via the Posts Page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you&#8217;ve <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/how-to-log-in-and-find-your-site\/\">logged in and found your site<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.smith.edu\/how-to-log-in-and-find-your-site\/#dashboard\">navigated to the dashboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Dashboard of your site, from the main navigation menu, select text by typing directly into the block where the text reads \u201cType \/ to choose a block.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also use the \u201c\/\u201d key to open and select a different block.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The paragraph block should be used for all body text.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you\u2019ve entered some text, you can hover over the text or click to bring up the Paragraph text<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add formatting by selecting the B (bold) or I (italics) icons, add a hyperlink, or see more menu options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional menu options include the ability to highlight, add inline code and images, add a field, and add a strikethrough, subscript, and superscript.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-medium-font-size has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"addimages\">\u2606 Add Images<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To add Images<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open an existing page or post or create a new page or post by choosing <strong>New+<\/strong> from the WordPress toolbar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Block editor, select the <strong>Add Block<\/strong> icon and select <strong>Image<\/strong> from the Block inserter<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large Once you&#8217;ve uploaded your image, remember to add alt text to make that image more accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#toc\">Return to Table of Contents<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Optional: Add a Featured Image<\/summary>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Some WordPress sites use the featured image to display a thumbnail or preview of the WordPress post. It may also display at the top of the post. If your site&#8217;s theme uses a featured image, you can add one from the settings sidebar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-medium-font-size has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"addfeaturedimage\">\u2606 Add a Featured Image<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-f66f9956 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>post you want to update.<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the WordPress block editor, look for the Settings sidebar on the right side of the workspace.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the settings sidebar is closed, select the Settings button in the right corner of the page to open it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down to \u201cFeatured Image,\u201d then select <strong>Set featured image<\/strong>. The \u201cFeatured Image\u201d window will open.
