She was brought to the United States by her adoptive mother and father and grew up in Northampton, MA. Vazquez has been a part of the lesbian community in Northampton for the past 50+ years. She organized the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryvsoftball.org\/\">Mary Vazquez<br>Women&#8217;s Softball League<\/a>, maintained a long DJ career and participated in the early Pride marches in Northampton. She has been with her partner Lesl\u00e9a Newman for over 30 years and they married legally in 2004.
