Investigating the theoretical and practical ways in which focusing on female biology can not only alter our understanding of functional morphology, physiological mechanisms, and behavioral patterns, but also begin to remove historical bias that can undercut current research
Questions for Round Table Panel
Here are questions we posed in the abstract for the round table panel —
What are the key gaps in our knowledge regarding female reproduction? How can we bridge these gaps?
Where might ignoring the female perspective result in misguided conclusions? ex: estrogen and aggression.
What terminology is biased or otherwise antiquated and promotes misleading assumptions, ex: fertilization, egg? What alternatives can we provide, ex: conception, fused gametes, ovum? What are the issues with any alternatives?
What are the next big questions in biology as they relate to the female perspective?
Here are questions formulated during the meeting —
What new technologies might propel the field? ex: video, fMRI, to study a dynamic uterus.
