This is a scavenger hunt looking for certain objects in the Smith College Museum of Art. All the objects on this scavenger hunt are related to mythology.
What is mythology?
Myths are stories that people tell each other to offer some explanations for why life is the way it is. The word “mythology,” means that people tell the stories to each other. Myths are part of every culture around the world.
Myths were originally stories that were told out loud. Artists imagined what the characters might look like and created paintings and sculptures. How do these artworks compare to your imagination of what the character would look like?
