The law:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>provides increased protections for protected classes and special protections for employees who have been sexually harassed;<\/li>\n<li>prohibits nondisclosure agreements related to discrimination;<\/li>\n<li>prohibits mandatory arbitration clauses related to discrimination;<\/li>\n<li>requires employers to provide employees notice of their sexual harassment prevention training program in writing in English and in employees&#8217; primary languages<span class=\"u-inline-expand-ellipsis\">;<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"u-text-expander--inline__more-text\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"u-text-expander--inline__more-text\">extends the statute of limitations for claims resulting from unlawful or discriminatory practices constituting sexual harassment to three years; <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"u-text-expander--inline__more-text\">requires review and update of the model sexual harassment prevention guidance document and sexual harassment prevention policy; <\/span><span class=\"u-text-expander--inline__more-text\">and <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"u-text-expander--inline__more-text\">directs the commissioner of labor to conduct a study on strengthening sexual harassment prevention laws.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2019, New York state passed and Governor Cuomo signed a new sexual harassment law.
