Her studies primarily focused on Eastern Orthodoxy, Russian and Soviet history, and religious philosophy. She is particularly interested in lived experiences of the Cold War, religion in the Soviet Union, and collective memory. Outside of the classroom, she worked at the Smith College Special Collections, where she gained a love for hands-on work with archival sources. Since graduating from Smith, she enrolled in a summer intensive Russian language program at the University of Virginia.
