Staff Council Profile: Chris Shea

Chris Shea works in the Events Management Office as the Events & Scheduling Systems
Administrator. He serves as the primary point of contact for all things related to 25Live, serves
as a space/event scheduler for many locations on campus, and works closely with campus
partners to advise and assist in the successful execution of their events. Prior to joining the
EMO in 2022, Chris was the manager of the Smith College Bookstore beginning in 2018.

Chris is in his second year of his first Staff Council term. He currently serves on the
Communications Committee and Activities Committee. He feels that Staff Council is an excellent
way to meet new people from different departments, come together in meaningful and impactful
ways, advocate for fellow staff, and find opportunities to make important contributions to the
campus community.

When not at work, Chris spends the bulk of his time with his wife Nicole and four-year-old
daughter Freya, whose sole mission in life seems to be leaving destruction in her wake. When
not at work or cleaning up messes at home, he enjoys reading (primarily horror, fantasy and
historical fiction), spending time outdoors, going to concerts, and finding new places to explore.
