Laura Gomez, Administrative Coordinator at the Lewis Global Studies Center, is in her first term on Staff Council. Laura has worked at Smith College for five years and is the Chair of the Communications Committee. Laura is also a member of the Personnel & Policy Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura says the Communications Committee is a \u201cwonderful committee of enthusiastic staff members, bringing new ideas of how to communicate with staff.\u201d This year the Communications Committee created a Staff at Smith College Slack Workspace as a way to strengthen communication among staff. It currently has 136 members.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does Laura like best about being a part of Staff Council? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI love meeting and collaborating with staff that I otherwise wouldn’t interact with.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of Laura\u2019s Favorites<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Season:<\/strong> spring. I love going outside without a jacket, unless it’s raining! I love the promise of warmer weather. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hobby: <\/strong>going to see live music – ask her about Langhorne Slim in Boston!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food:<\/strong> ice cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n
