Art Maker, Art Viewer

Audio by Annabella Boatwright

Transcript:

Well, I make art because it’s a way to express something I’m thinking, like, a very personal or abstract feeling or thought that I’ve kind of been turning over forever. And it’s a way to show that to other people and, hopefully, maybe get them to think of something that is personal to them but that is inspired by what I’ve made. Then when I’m thinking of talking about other people’s work or looking at other paintings, I think about what they were thinking of when they were making it the same way that I think  about how my work might affect someone else. And I try to really respect what they made and give time to it to see or, you know, try to feel what they were feeling or what they wanted me to feel.
