Driftwood Puppets
Artist’s Note
When making Driftwood Puppets, I found that creating my own marionettes had a strong narrative about control. Using two human puppet figures made from driftwood gathered from the beach near my house, I was able to control my own fantasy about friendship and connection. Because of the shelter in place orders I wanted to recreate my desires for human interaction through a puppet show. This project aimed to show that art can allow us to experience realities outside of our own.
