When Miranda in The Tempest tells Prospero, &#8220;I have suffered with those that I saw suffer,&#8221; we thought of the pain and suffering of this time. And when Lear tells Cordelia &#8220;We two together will sing like birds i&#8217; the cage,&#8221; we thought of the beauty and stillness some have found.
