Black and white photograph of Mirha-Soleil Ross and Xanthra Phillippa MacKay. They are outside on a summer day and grass and bushes are visible in the background. The two women are closely embracing, but their faces are turned toward the camera. Both are smiling, and Mirha has stuck her tongue out playfully.

Creators of the zine gendertrash from hell pose outside on a summer day. [1]

Zines were a popular manner in which trans (and generally queer) people shared art, thoughts, and intellectual resources. gendertrash from hell detailed all of those aspects within one piece of media. The creators of this zine, who were at the time partners, pose here in an embrace. Some trans people found their ability to be freer in romantic expression after transitioning and though we don’t know if that was the case for these two, isn’t it lovely to see trans joy?
