The lectures were titled \u201cMarginality and Insight &#8211; Minorities and the threat of Conformity,\u201d and \u201cPolitical Apathy,\u201d respectively. Riesman was the visiting lecturer for the annual Anna Hunt Billings Memorial Lecture Series, established in 1947 by a relative of Sophia Smith.
