Instead of going to classes, students would be able to go to the all-day anti-apartheid event called \u201cFreedom Friday\u201d that students from the five-college community were holding at UMass Amherst. President Dunn was hesitant to cancel classes, claiming she was too new to her position to know where the faculty stood on these issues.
