She explained that their treasurer had been impeached and their co-chair was resigning because of the incident, acknowledging that the budget had been turned in late but stressing the importance of Nosotras and the other Unity organizations on campus. Suarez said that the proposed budget cuts would have \u201cvirtually eliminated the possibility of Nosotras\u2019 existence on this campus,\u201d forcing them to search for any way to remedy the situation. Additionally, the penalty would have affected the future Nosotras budget for years and years.
