UNITY orgs vote to extend sit-in, President Dunn addresses protesters<\/span><\/p>\n

President Dunn talked with UNITY protesters about the steps the administration was taking to allocate space for Smith\u2019s cultural organizations. President Dunn said that the rest of Lilly Hall was not up for offer, but that as an interim solution the administration was offering the UNITY orgs exclusive use of Sophie\u2019s Terrace, a small building on Bedford Terrace, for the rest of the year, as well as Student Government Association (SGA) space in Stoddard Annex and whatever other space the orgs could reserve. She emphasized that an architectural firm had been hired to look at the use of space all over campus and make recommendations for reallocating space that the students would take part in evaluating. Supporters of UNITY voted that night at an emergency meeting to extend the sit-in to a week, rejecting President Dunn\u2019s interim plan and expressing their desire to continue protesting until some sort of a contract with more permanent measures was drafted.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
