UNITY and administration draw up a contract about space, sit-in ends<\/span><\/p>\n

The heads of UNITY and Dean of the College Ann Burger drew up a contract with both provisional and longer-term plans to allocate space for Smith\u2019s cultural organizations. The contract mean that UNITY heads would agree to accept temporary space in Hampshire House and Sophie\u2019s Terrace, two buildings on Bedford Terrace, with the stipulation that they would work on a task force with the architectural planning firm hired to evaluate Smith\u2019s space issue. UNITY met with Drummey Rosane Anderson, the architectural firm, for the first time on the same day that the contract was drawn up, and were scheduled to receive progress reports on December 3rd and January 10th. UNITY supporters ended their occupation of College Hall, but did not yet sign the contract, waiting for assurance that the inhabitants of Hampshire House would vacate the promised building as planned.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
