At the northern border of the field station, there is a large boulder that looks out over the surrounding trees. It is covered in moss and ferns. There is a view of a rock wall that follows the border. It is a good example of the integral part that rocks play in the landscape of the station, and New England as a whole. It is a good place to ponder boundaries, both natural and man-made.
