Rocky Overlook

The rocky overlook has a powerful view down as a southeast facing slope from an outcropping of boulders. It is surrounded by white pine, interesting fungus, hemlocks, and red oaks. During the summer, the area is covered in Mountain Laurel. This location provides a powerful contrast in scale with the environment. You simultaneously feel tall but minuscule when compared with the rest of the area. This area has a sense of solitude and would be a great place to reflect on seasonal changes and transitions.
