I gasped for breath

This image shows a blackout poetry piece created on a page of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. The original text is predominantly obscured with blue marker. Various clippings and images are pasted across the margins and the obscured parts of the text. Select words and phrases have been left uncovered and underlined in blue pen, creating a new poetic message.
